Participate in the 2025 MM&K Private Equity and Venture Capital Compensation Survey to obtain the most recent insights into pay trends

May 1, 2025

MM&K is about to launch its 30th annual Private Equity & Venture Capital Compensation Survey of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital industry.

The survey provides a comprehensive review of both short-term and long-term remuneration practices across the private equity, venture capital, and infrastructure fund management sectors, including the fund-of-funds and secondaries spaces. Short-term compensation analysis covers base salaries and annual bonus levels, along with the structure and design features of annual bonus schemes within the industry. Long-term compensation focuses on the architecture of carried interest and co-investment plans. In addition, the survey reports on a wide range of broader people and reward-related issues.

Findings from the 2024 Survey revealed that just under 40% of firms expected to increase the number of their administrative staff, while over 50% anticipated expanding their teams of investment professionals. The 2024 edition also included a detailed analysis of diversity and gender pay, offering valuable insights into this increasingly important area.

Earlier this year, MM&K conducted a pulse survey focused on changes to base salaries following year-end reviews. The results indicated that more than 50% of firms undertake salary reviews in December or January. This year, almost 75% of firms reported salary increases for their non-Partner junior investment professionals, representing a slight decrease compared to the previous year. The forthcoming main survey will explore these changes in greater depth and provide detailed analysis across all aspects of pay.

The European Survey covers 53 distinct investment and non-investment roles, providing a uniquely detailed view of compensation across the industry.
