MM&K PE / VC Compensation Survey 2023 is about to be published

Over the years MM&K has built up a huge amount of knowledge and experience of advising firms in the Private Equity and Venture Capital arena. This year will be the 28th consecutive year that we have conducted our market-leading pay survey of pay levels and structures in the UK and European Private Equity sector.

2023 marks another successful year for MM&K’s Private Equity and Venture Capital Compensation Survey, with more than 40 participating firms providing their data to enable us to report in depth on the details of compensation for asset managers and their support teams.

Our UK and European survey covers more than 50 investment and non-investment roles in a wide range of alternative asset management firms, including: Buyout, Growth Capital, Venture Capital, Corporate Venturing, Distressed/Turnaround, Debt, Secondary, Fund of Funds, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Mezzanine. We report findings on a range of remuneration elements, including base salaries, benefits, annual bonuses and carried interest plan participation, plus details on many other people and reward issues.

This year the report will also include a more detailed analysis of the extent to which ESG targets have found their way into incentive plans. Another topic of great interest is diversity and inclusion. A gender pay gap analysis is also included in this year’s report.

The UK and European Compensation Survey is run as a “club survey”. As such, the full report is only available to participating firms. However, non-participants can download a preview of the 2023 Report (to be published in October 2023).
