The findings from our extensive Life in the Boardroom survey identify a growing concern about the growing demands of the NED role and increased regulation and governance changes placed upon NEDs; a burden not matched by increases in remuneration. This risks negatively impacting the motivation to become a NED and the quality of boards may diminish as a result.

The survey collected data directly from board directors representing 885 appointments.  The report contains unique breakdowns on fees and time commitments and includes exclusive insights into Life in the Boardroom, as seen through the eyes of those who have first-hand experience of the way boards operate and the issues they contend with.
