2022 North American Private Equity and Venture Capital Compensation Report

The MM&K – Holt North American Private Equity and Venture Capital Compensation Report, which is published annually, offers a comprehensive market view of competitive compensation strategies across the Private Equity and Venture Capital fund management sector in North America.

The Report is derived from the annual survey of PE and VC fund managers’ compensation that MM&K and Holt conduct in that region.  The data is gathered from participating alternative investment fund management businesses themselves and as a result it is reliable, accurate and right up to date. Typically, we have 120 firms in the North American Survey providing us with detailed information about their remuneration policies as well as comp data on all their partners and employees.

The Report covers all the components of compensation, including salaries and employee benefits, annual bonuses and carry participation levels for 48 different job positions. It also covers in detail, the design, structure and levels of annual bonus plans, carried interest plans, co-investment plans and GP Commitment requirements. We also report on a broad range of other human capital and staffing issues.
